Update: November 2009:
Hello fellow fire fans and list members....
After a long process I am pleased and proud to announce my new book is now available!!!
Please go here to get a good preview:

The book is over a hundred pages and is the same size and price range as my CFD book
As for content, this volume shows suburban Chicago fire apparatus at work at many fire scenes, from the 80s to the present day. The emphasis is on the apparatus, clear high quality images with technical specifications on each. There are lots and lots of photos as I have changed the format to multiple photos per page as well as keeping some full page images too...
I am very pleased with the quality and content and think this volume is superior to my previous volume in all respects..Please click the link and give it a look. Any comments and/or corrections will be appreciated!!
The older volume Chicago Fire Apparatus at Work can be previewed here:

***Update March 2009*** I have gathered all the images for the suburban book..but I am now concentrating on making a DVD of all the fire video I've shot the past few years..It's not gonna be top notch "Chicago Fire Video quality" but will be an interesting disk to watch..It will probably run 90 minutes or so and I may offer if for sale (cheap!!!) if anyone has any interest. Hopefully you have noticed a dramatic increase in the quality of the video I shoot due to a new SLR with video capture built in..seems to do both jobs very well. Also a reminder..this site costs me 150.00 a year to run..so if you enjoy the site buy a photo or 2 to help with the cost..Thanks for your interest in my photos!!!
Jan 2009..I have started work on the suburban version of my book..It will be similar in scope and format to the CFD book..the working title is "Suburban Rigs at Work"
Thanks to all those who have purchased volume one
August 2008. The book is done...see the gallery for a look at the cover..
Update*** My site is 1 year old this month (June 2007)..I am AMAZED at the amount of visitors that have visited..it's great so many of you enjoy my photos...I have decided to renew the site for another year..It costs me 150.00 per year to run the site and I was able to do a little better than break even so it worked out great!!! I just want to remind everyone that you CAN purchase any of the photos you see on this site and I feel the cost is very reasonable..I'm not looking to get rich but merely make expenses so I can continue to share all these photos with you..THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE SITE VISITS, COMMENTS AND SUPPORT over this last year..Let's all hope we have a safe, fun and interesting summer...
My name is Steve Redick and I am a senior fire alarm operator with the Chicago Fire Department...I have been on the job for about 27 years now..and have been a "fan" since the late 1960s. I have been an active fire photographer most of my life and have a large collection of images. I hope to share most of my collection on this site. I am starting off the galleries with the photos taken in the 1950s and 60s by my father Warren Redick who is a retired CFD Battalion Chief..He now lives in Bull Shoals Arkansas. He was an early adopter of Kodachrome film and has many images I consider to be unique and classic. I will endeavor to post most of his work first as this seems to be the images most in demand. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I do and please note that you can order many size prints of ANY of the images you see here..but remember my main purpose here is to share these images with the "firefans" of the world..Be sure and check back often as this is a work in progress!
